This study is for patients with colorectal cancer with metastatic tumor in their livers only, who have undergone complete resection of these tumors.

Protocol number: J0745

Type of cancer: Stage IV Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

Phase number: I

Summary:  This is a phase I study for patients who need adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery.  Patients should have Stage IV colorectal cancer with metastasis to the liver only.  The metastatic sites in the liver should be resected prior to chemotherapy.  This study will test safe doses of a vaccine in combination with Cytoxan.  The purpose of the vaccine is to start an immune response.  The GM-CSF vaccine is thought to help attract your own immune cells where they become activated and attack your cancer cells.
